Apprentice Baker
Level 2 or 3
Porter is looking for an eager and driven Apprentice Baker, who will be able to learn from a master baker with 30 years of baking experience in the UK and European industry. This opportunity is available for both Level 2 or 3 Apprenticeship courses, (dependent upon prior experience/starting point).
We are excited to be opening our second site, in which there will be a fully equipped bakery. We’ll produce high-quality viennoiserie, bread, and cakes. This is not only a chance to learn, but also a chance to develop your skills and progress your career as the bakery business grows.
Our Head Baker is well versed in managing apprenticeships and nurturing talent, having already seen many apprentices through to distinction.
You will learn
Fundamental and advanced baking skills
The ins and outs of artisan baking
How to use professional bakery equipment safely
Food safety, supply management, and quality standards
There is no experience required – just a passion for baking and a determination to improve, as well as punctuality and mutual respect. Porter is open to people of all ages and backgrounds who share our passion for quality and craftsmanship.
You will
Gain a Bakery Qualification, either Level 2 or Level 3
Have the chance to stay on and progress with Porter

Qualifications
Level 2 or Level 3 Certificate in Baking Industry Skills
Functional Skills in Maths & English (if applicable)
The Programme
40 hours/week, 5 days out of 7 (including weekends)
A mix of on-the-job training and off-site workshops
Regular check-ins with your manager and tutor
Support with Maths and English qualifications if needed

Salary: £7.55, dependent on experience
