Barista

Known for our exceptional coffee and a relaxed, welcoming environment, Porter has become a hub for the local community in Sheffield. Our team is at the core of the business, and we constantly strive to take care of our customers and improve upon what we do.

As we prepare to open our second site, we are looking for baristas who will drive our commitment to quality, ensuring every cup that goes out reflects our expertise and love of coffee.

Responsibilities

• Drive quality and presentation standards across the entire coffee menu

• Have a good knowledge of available coffees

• Ensure a clean, organised and presentable work area at all times

• Adhere to all food safety standards and regulations

• Awareness of speed of service and coffee wait times

• Warmly greeting customers and operating the till

• Engage with customers to share knowledge and inspire appreciation for specialty coffee

Skills

• You are a kind, caring person with a genuine passion for hospitality and great customer service

• Calm and efficient under the pressure of a high volume shop

• Attention to detail – dirty saucers, leftover lipstick, post-pour dribbles, cloudy glasses. Nothing gets missed, and nothing goes out that isn’t right.

• Proven experience in specialty coffee

• Dial in, texture milk perfectly, pour latte art

Hours: Approx. 38 hours a week (weekend availability is a must).
Pay: £12.71 per hour
