Known for our exceptional coffee and a relaxed, welcoming environment, Porter has become a hub for the local community in Sheffield. Our team is at the core of the business, and we constantly strive to take care of our customers and improve upon what we do.

As we prepare to open our second site, we are looking for a coffee shop General Manager to champion our core values, uphold brand standards, and lead their team with passion and purpose. 

Responsibilities

  • Operating the till, balancing exceptional customer service with efficiency, especially during busy periods

  • Engage with customers to share knowledge and inspire appreciation for specialty coffee and our baked goods

  • Upkeep shop presentation standards

  • Clearing tables, running food and drinks

  • Washing dishes

  • Adhere to all food safety standards and regulations

Skills

  • You are a kind, caring person with a genuine passion for hospitality and great customer service

  • Calm and efficient under the pressure of a high-volume shop

  • Having an awareness of the shop and our customers; prioritising their needs, and therefore what needs to be done to meet those needs

  • Attention to detail – dirty saucers, leftover lipstick, post-pour dribbles, cloudy glasses. Nothing gets missed, and nothing goes out that isn’t right.

  • Barista experience is welcomed, but not necessary.


Hours: Approx. 28–30 hours a week (weekend availability is a must).
Salary: £12.71 per hour
